NID student wins an award for inventive car plan at the Auto Expo 2012

Prathyush D, a post-graduate student of transport design at NID bag the award for scheming an pioneering car at Auto Expo 2012. He was honoured with a trophy and a cash prize of Rs. 75,000 by the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), the organizer of the competition. The creative car is named ‘Moving Tent’ or ‘MovT’ as this tablet wrought car can turn into a tent. Moreover, it do not consume pricey fuel as it runs on green power sources.

Talking about the idea following his innovation, Prathyush said that the design came to his mind while he was working on the theme of green energy sources and green technology. He said, “Just putting a battery in a vehicle doesn’t create it a green vehicle.”

The distance in which my car was transported may be less, but I was free from stress and I had a simple, easy and safe method of auto transportation.
